Tab Alignment

I am trying to figure out how to align text with tabs, that if the text before the tab is longer than the text on the line above or below it, the text in the tabs following should still all be aligned.

Where, specifically, are you having the alignment problem? If you have a document sample, that might help. Generally, a document that simply uses default tab stops to try and present tabular data (e.g. tab-tab-fieldcode-tab-tab-fieldcode) is going to be susceptible to the shifting effect you are describing since the tab positions are part of each paragraph's formatting. In this specific case, you might opt for setting the tab positions manually at reasonable intervals, using table layouts, etc. But that all depends on what it is specifically that is causing you problems.
