and we are getting the error

"failed to communicate with the server"

Where can I find SPS logs to determine what the actual problem is?

I made sure MSDTC was uninstalled and installed again to try synching the machine names back up.
I made sure the MSDTC was configured as descibed in CHM


Please help.

The mid-tier URL you are attempting to reach is incorrect or unreachable. Alternatively, the mid-tier service isn't running.
