Is Order Status dropdown extensible?

I am trying to add additional status values for order's Status, and want to know if it is possible and how. I found that I can add additional values to the order status table in SelectDB, but those new values are not shown in the UI under "Order Status". How can these new vaules be displayed? Thanks.

Order Status is not extensible, as the values are internally meaningful to the overall state of the order. Generally, if the values of a particular drop-down field are customizable, it will appear in the Drop-Down Lists manager tool in SPAdmin. Further, an <Edit List> value generally appears as one of the selectable options in the control itself.
