SPS Cameron Mid Tier load balancing for IL

Post by vaetgt1 »

The production version of SPS for Illinois is going to have 2 integration mid tiers (load balanced) and 4 user mid tiers (load balanced).

1. Will an event notification windows service/process run on all mid tiers?
2. If the answer to the above question is "yes", then how will the event notifucation process(es) ensure that event notifications as posted to the smartVIEW configured Listener process so that all event are posted in the order that they occured for the user.

Yes, the event notification process is a shared responsibility of all the mid tiers in a pool.

SPS uses an internal queue (db table) to ensure that all messages for a given subscription are delivered in the order in which they were fired. The SPS event notification system provides both a delivery and order guarantee.
