Yes, the gateway is optional. If you already have your environment setup to use Select's prior approach, that should still work.

Did you ensure you have all the proper dlls copied to your web server? That error most likely indicates a missing file.

We do not support the types of modifications you're looking to pursue. However, you may find luck in creating a custom doc tree provider for the shell. That allows you manage your tree data however you want so long as your provider implements the tree contract correctly.

SoftPro Select has an extensive API provided via .net reference libraries.

The order task is not the same thing as the ITaskManager area. Although they share a common term (task) they refer to very different concepts. In order to save your order tasks, simply save the order using the IOrderStore::ApplyChanges method. Most order data is saved this way. The ITaskManager area...
